What is a prayer labyrinth?
A labyrinth is a maze-like path designed to facilitate
meditation and prayer. There is one path into the center of a
labyrinth and one path out of it. A maze is designed as a puzzle but a
labyrinth is not intended to be difficult to navigate. Its singular path
is merely a way to physically engage in prayer and worship experientially. Labyrinth’s have
been around for thousands of years and Christians have been creating
labyrinth's for prayer for more than a thousand years. Some cathedrals have them on their marble
floors and some gardens will have them made from shrubbery or paving

Our prayer labyrinth is a non-traditional pattern and is intended to help our church creatively pray during the 24-3 prayer weekend.
How long will this labyrinth take?
Our temporary labyrinth may take you from 15 to 45 minutes if you stop and pray at each station.
What if I get bored or lose focus?
It’s okay. Just stop for a minute at one of the chairs and close your eyes. Regain your focus. Feel free to spend more time at the stations that are more meaningful for you and less time at the ones that are not. Be sure to also read the numbered instructions sheets at each station and follow them. The Prayer Labyrinth is meant to be interactive and creative so do what helps you pray and connect with God.
Should I do it by myself?
Yes. The prayer labyrinth is intended to be a solo-time of prayer and meditation so group prayer and discussion are not a part of the experience. However, feel free to use it at the same time others are in the room.
