O How We love our New Worship Leader!


___ We know 80% of the songs this new leader uses.
___ We get three months to learn a new song.
___ Each family got to make a list of favorite worship songs.
___ When leading worship we think this new leader actually worships.
___ We no longer get jerked around -- the pace flows seamlessly.
___ Our worship leader doesn't try to be a cheerleader.
___ We can sing in harmony once in a while.
___ Like a good sound person, our song leader is almost invisible.
___ This new worship leader doesn't tell dumb jokes.
___ This worship leader allows for some somber music, not just happy-tunes.
___ Our new leader never berates us for not being loud.
___ Sometimes we now get to sit down.
___ This leader never commands us do specified things with our hands.
___ Our new leader doesn't preach mini-sermons.
___ We hear mostly the congregation, not the leader's voice.
___ We've had Quaker Praise -- an amazing experience of silence.
___ This new leader blends new choruses and old hymns.
___ When we learn a new song, even the non-musicians can learn it.
___ We quit singing We-bring-the-sacks-of-rice-on-trays in every service.
___ We now personalize songs, substituting I-Me for We-Us.
___ Our new leader often reads scripture instead of a talking-introduction.
___ Sometimes we hear the background or story of the song.
___ Often we end up dropping out the instruments/mics -- it is beautiful.
