Praying to the saints?  Prayer through the saints?

Praying through the Saints

OK, here’s a neat little mental game… How far can a Protestant go down this list?

1.  Prayer works—God answers prayer.

2. Praying for myself and my requests is good, but it is even better to enlist others to pray by making “prayer requests” to them.

3. Some people are especially gifted at prayer and these “prayer warriors” should be enlisted for intercession especially when we have a great prayer need.

4. Prayer is such a central party of the Christian life and our relationship with God that Christians will even pray in heaven.

5. Christians in Heaven are aware of life down here—they know what is happening.

6. Great prayer warriors who have already gone to heaven still pray, like they did all their life on earth.

7. Making our requests known to these great prayer warriors in heaven for their intercession is merely an extension of making prayer requests on earth.
